Amber R.
Private tutor in Northampton, MA
Education
I graduated cum laude from Smith College in 2014, with a major in History and a minor in Spanish.
Experience
I've been a TA for The Young Women's Writing Workshop, a pre-college writing intensive at Smith College for the past two summers. My experience there made me realize how much I love helping high schoolers with their writing. During 2013, I worked as an after school program aide with the first grade class at the Smith College Campus School. I also interned at Smith College's Poetry Center during the fall of 2013. I spent my Junior year abroad in Cordoba, Spain where I took all of my classes in Spanish. I fulfilled all of the requirements for a Spanish major, except for a course in Portuguese. In addition to numerous courses in Spanish and Latin American literature as well as Spanish and Latin American history, I took classes on Spanish film and photography while I was abroad. I am fluent, and maintain my Spanish by volunteering as an interpreter for No One Leaves, an organization in Springfield.
