Smith College - BA, Biology

Experience

I am a tutor with experience in a variety of subjects, however, I am most proficient in teaching Biology and French, as well as helping students with the studying and organizational skills. I can also assist with subjects such as Chemistry, Algebra, European and American History, Social Studies, English and helping build good essay writing skills. I prefer to teach Biology, because it is a personal passion of mine. I feel as if it is a very diverse subject and that there is always something new that can be learned. Regardless of what I am teaching, I like to keep the students engaged by finding what approach appeals to each one the most. There are many different ways that a topic can be taught and it is important to find out what will work best for each person. I am a currently a Biology student with Smith College and am minoring in African Studies. I have been tutoring since high school and have experience as an academic advisor and as a lab assistant for an introductory Biology class. When not studying, I prefer to spend time outdoors, and enjoy dance, baking, photography, travel, and spending time with good friends.
