Experience
My experience with tutoring comes from the fact that while attending Hampshire College, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electronic Design, I was a teacher's assistant for four different semesters. It was during that time that I developed a real love and passion for learning and helping others. My background is in teaching math-heavy subject matter to students who are studying humanities. I have a ton of practice and experience in re-tooling and changing the way that material is taught, and learned that comes from my own history of personally dealing with learning disabilities. My belief is that any individual has the ability to learn the concepts taught in a math course if it is presented in a way that is suitable to the student's own style of learning. I am capable of tutoring all levels of math and firmly believe in showing students the skills they require to hopefully solve future problems by themselves, which in turn will help them going forward in their studies. Outside of the classroom, some of my hobbies include martial arts, yoga, running, dancing, and even practiced circus skills. I also love feminism, and I think a great thing to practice is to see everybody as simply a person.
